Winter hiking
Around Obergurgl there are 12 km of winter hiking trails providing romantic walks. Enjoy the superb views in the refreshing Ötztal mountain air and gaze in wonderment at the deep snow covered mountain landscape.
Winter hiking trails in Obergurgl:
Zirbenwald natural trail:
From Obergurgl to Zirbenwald, pass Davidshütte and head to the wayside cross at Zirbenwald. Return section to the Zirbenwald bridge, left down the Imfong trail to Obergurgl. (Duration around 1 hour)
Winter hiking trail in Gurglertal:
Even route on the Pill/Angern valley floor, then follow an easy to moderately difficult climb across Isse-Wiesen to the towns of Königsrain and Alt-Poschach. Then proceed back along the Ötztaler Ache on the right-hand. (Duration around 1 hour)
Hochgurgler Romantic trail:
Quite flat in a rural and charming circuit above the tree limit to Königstal. A section of the winter hiking trail is illuminated. (Duration around 1/2 hour)

Snow-shoe hike
Another highlight during a ski holiday in Obergurgl is a snow-shoe hike through the wild and romantic Ötztal landscape. Skischule Obergurgl provides 2x guided tours a week into this wintry terrain. Trips at night-time also available.
