The Obergurgl - Hochgurgl ski area

Due to its location, the Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski area is considered one of the snowiest regions in the Alps. Obergurgl – the diamond of the alps – guaranteed snow from mid-November until the end fo April. A total of 24 modern lifts tempt the winter sports enthusiast up to 3080 metres altitude, and without any queues at the cable car. 110 kilometres of slopes in 3 different difficulty levels tempt you to go skiing. 

Skiing in Ötztal

Alpen-Wellness Resort Hotel Hochfirst is located directly besides the slope and is an ideal starting point for a skiing holiday in Obergurgl. Directly behind the Hotel Hochfirst children have the opportunity to learn to ski in a fun way, with instruction from qualified ski instructors. All-day supervision by the children’s ski school in Obergurgl gives parents the opportunity to explore the slopes off their own bat.

Due to the large transport capacity (about 40,000 people per hour) waiting times at the 24 lifts are almost impossible. The altitude (1,800 to 3,080 m) makes Obergurgl-Hochgurgl one of the snowiest ski areas in the Alps. The ski resort in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl starts the new season every year in mid-November as the first non-glacier ski area.
